okay so i got my straightener like november 07. i had never straightened my hair and well of course it was going to be shiny the first 5 times. but after that it all went down hill. i mean it works fine but my hair is so damaged it kinda sad. its dry has a ton of split ends and when i dont straighten it its just dead.
i have curly hair i have alot and its thick. and it takes about 1 hour and 30 min to get it really straight on the highest level it goes. but if its humid outside even just a little its starts curling like the ends and getting poofy.
honestly i wish i would have made a better investment because now my hair is dead and i think if you spend more money on something it will work better so dont buy this is you have curly hair maybe if you have just straight hair it will work fine but i honestly dont recomend it.:(

I thought that hair straightening was just somehthing that people with very curly hair did until my friend offered to do mine and i loved it.
She had the very expensive GHD variety and very very curly hair so at the time i went for some very cheap £40 straighteners and was dissapointed with the results.
I also got fed up with blow drying my hair or waiting for it to dry before straightening it and either being late everyday or going out looking like a total state.
My boyfirend bought me the wet to straight straighteners for my birthday and i have to say that at first i was very sceptical that you could put extremely hot straighteners onto wet hair with no protective products whatsoever.
The idea is actually quite simple. the plates use heat to seal moisture into your hair as they dry it and you end up with shiny silky hair and i have to say that for 90% of the time this is the case for me.
The controls are simple, there is an on/off switch and a heat / hair thickness dial. the only issue i have with this dial is that is it not very easy to see being black on black.
you then separate your hair into sections and go, making sure to keep the holes in the staighteners facing outwards as these are the vents for the steam.. its as simple as that!
you can also use them on dry hair with products as usual if you wish so they are pretty versatile in that way.
I have found that if the weather conditions are right, ie not too windy or damp the straightening effects are good for a couple of days which is great for going away or just not being at home for one night.
the only thing i would say to watch out for (and this is something that i am not mindful enough of) is the dampness of your hair when you straighten it. too wet and it will take forever, not wet enough and you may end up dry and flyaway at the ends.
This is just me going off and making sandwiches and other such motherly things in the morning and leaving it too long. If you follow the instructions then you will most probably be fine.
Don't be dissapointed if you do not get perfect results first time with these, as with everything in life it takes practice and will feel weird if you are used to using fry strraighteners only.
I am very pleased with mine and i hope that this review has helped you.
Novel Idea, but a bit of a disappointment...

As someone that relies on straighteners for fast pain free styling I was absolutely dying to get my hands on the Wet2Straight. Imagine!, I thought, no blowing drying, or fighting with dry kinky hair 5 hours later because you were too lazy to blow dry it first.
I have shoulder blade length hair which is quite fine but also fairly thick. I prefer the managability of a slimline straighter so I purchased the WET2STRAIGHT SLIM, which is ideally for short to medium length hair. I appreciate this may have been an error but took this into account, drying slim sections of hair at a time. Unfortunately it took at least two to three repeats to dry each section of hair and at the same time made it quite frizzy. It was a slow and slightly labourous process. I was able to reduce some of the frizzing by going over the hair again after it was dry, but I found the feel of the teflon plates far less satisfying than the more popular ceramic plates.
The final look from the Wet2Straight was not unpleasant, but certainly not the same smooth and shiny effect of a ceramic straighter, and i'm not saying you have to have GHD, the remington ceramic is just as good (which is what I have!).
If you are a fan of the very sleek, smooth effect then I wouldn't recommend the Wet2Straight. If you prefer a more natural/straight blow dry look, then maybe the Wet2Straight will work out for you.
Unfortunately my wet2straight only made it out of the box three times before I gave up. It now sits in its box and I continue to use my old straighteners!!
